Replacing Existing Sky Box With Sky+

I currently have two Sky boxes on a multiroom setup although I've cancelled the multiroom and using the second box for the free channels.
I picked up a Sky+ box secondhand the other day just wondering how I go about setting it up. At a glance I think the LNB is Dual but it's hard to check because of where it's positioned. If I have to get a quad LNB and get someone to install it I might as well get HD as it would cost around the same but if I can set it up reasonably quickly and cheaply I might keep it.

It won't be a dual LNB but it might be a twin-output LNB. More likely a quad-output if installed by Sky as hardly any twins were used.

Connect the Sky+ Digibox and stick your card in it. Phone Sky and ask for the card to be activated in the Sky+ and for the recording feature to be activated.

Grr set everything up called Sky (got India) and they said they couldn't activate the Sky+ and would have to send an email to the tech dept I gave them all the details of the box and I can receive channels she said it would take a few days for them to get back to me. In my experience those guys never call back mind you.

if i read the post correctly you now have 2 sky+ boxes.

in this case you wont have any recording capability with the second one as you do not have a subscription for it (you canceled multiroom)

well as long as you have a subscription you can get the card paired with the + box for free.
ring sky again in the morning.
