Cork Community Radio will be holding a pub quiz in the VIP room at SoHo's pub on the Grand Parade in Cork City Monday March 16th at 8:30 PM. (that means a private bar!!) Door prizes and raffles will be available on the night and 100 euro cash will go to the first place team!

    Come support community in Cork!

I've no problem with a not-for-profit community station making such an announcement.

So reinstate your post if you wish.

Wouldn't mind knowing more about Cork Community Radio actually... Cork could really do with a community station. What stage are you at in setting up?

Well I had to remove them for my own sake because another moderator sent me a red card infraction for apparently spamming, and reported me to be banned, how a charity is supposed to advertise when they have no money (yet) without posting on a free site is beyond me.

We have really just started out, this is our second pub quiz and we need to get in at least 20 tables to make a profit. At the moment we are still in the process of applying for our 30 day license and will hopefully be on air in September. We have meetings every couple weeks and our next big event will be a live Paul Dee (hypnotist) show at the Rochestown Park Hotel May 1st with trad music afterwards which will also be imperative to have high attendance for.

If you're interested in attending a few meetings and possibly volunteering please don't hesitate to ask and I will let you know when and where our next meeting will be held. We will definately need more active volunteers coming up to the Paul Dee show and are also still accepting proposals for show ideas.

Let me know if you have any questions!

    -Rachel

Ah. We do get a huge amount of advertising and spam on boards.ie. So a lot of moderators can be a bit wary of users with low post counts coming on to promote things like this.

I'm based in Dublin myself so I won't be able to make it along. But best of luck with it and the station.
