Derval O'Rourke and Mary Cullen will appear on tonight's Late Late Show..Should be great to hear from both girls and will be a great publicity for the sport!!
Best of luck to the two if them!

Anyone know when within the show they will be on? I'm stuck in work for the first half (and can't remember my password for the sky plus)

I'd imagine they'll be the first ones on. They usually bring the athletes who've hit the headlines out first. That's just my random rule of thumb, so don't shoot me if I'm wrong. ;)

It certainly was!!! Not even a "show us your medals" or "lets have a quick look at highlights of the race's".
It was as if the producers felt as if they HAD to have them on, rather than wanting to have them on the show!

I think thats spot on! Pat Kenny is a waste of time. Glorious opportunity to showcase what dedication and determination is all about. These 2 girls could be role models for a whole generation of teenagers. If it was some wild young adult who was beset with drug and drink related problems, I bet we'd have got more than the paltry few minutes the 2 athletes got. Typical.

wasn't great. Spent more time questioning them about failures of Olympics. And no highlights

    Was pretty sh1t alright.

The secret of being a good talk show presenter is always coming across as having interest in the people you are interviewing....Plank Kenny has never got this. Its as clear as daylight when he couldn't care less and last night was a prime example of him going through the motions....reading the questions and ticking them off one by one:rolleyes:

    PS. Mary Cullen is hot;)

Ok, it wasn't the hour long probing interview I'd have liked to have seen, but I'm just glad athletics is getting any exposure at all.

The one serious feck up was the lack of any highlights. It would've taken all of 15 seconds to show Derval's race and the last 100m of Mary's.

I thought she looked like one of the Corrs!

Very short interview indeed made me really regret my decision to sit through Brian McFadden to see it.. :(

Agreed, Pat definitely seemed to keep a focus on their past setbacks. We wanted to see and hear of the achievements in Turin and see the medals! Not only is Pat notorious for only reading precisely from script, but is incapable of taking in a word from the responses. He tunes out, not hearing a word while waiting for interviewees to stop talking.... then takes his cue to just cut to the next question.
Arghhh it was just unbelievable as to why they didn't even show a few snippets of the girls races! (agreed - Mary defo looks like Andrea Corr...)
