Can anyone recommend a place where i can bring a 65 Mustang coupe for rust removal and paint job. I am not sure what the extent of the rust damage is but if anyone knows of a place where i could get it sorted i would be greatful

Where are you? Can you describe where the rust is? What condition is the car generally? Are you on a budget

    I am in East Galway.
There is a good bit of rust in the boot of the car mostly surface and where the paint is chipped on the body I can see rust there too.
Apart from that the car is in pretty good condition apart from a bearing cap for the front left wheel and a thermostat for an aftermarket system.
It is currently in a garage while I am awaiting parts to arrive from the states but they are currently out of stock so no idea how long it's gonna be.

If the paint is not to hard on, then i could sandblast it. I use only 6-7bar max, which will take off rust, but some paint will not come off. Specialy paint outside like on the front or wings is difficult. Paint inside is less thick or hard, will come off easy.
Under floor sealing (this black rubber stuff) can't be blasted. Sand will bounce back on it.
I only use this low pressure because the metal will not be damaged then. It will take a bit more time, but that's ok. Blasting with high pressure and big sand blaster will damage the metal.
The car has to be stripped down if u want a full blast. For only the rust parts it don't need to be stripped fully.

Hope this is not unwanted advertising. If so, then sorry, i don't do again. Just wanted to help.

This is not unwanted advertising at all.
It will be a full blast that I will be looking for because if I want to get it done then I want it done completely and properly.
The original owner made some mods to the hood or the car, fiberglass and holes for hood pins. The job was not a good one and there was far too much glue put on it and it looks awful. That would have to be sorted out. I want to keep the look of it but get the excess glue taken off. There were some mods done to the trunk of the car too.
For the paint job it would definitely have to be black and I would want about 4 or 5 coats of lacquer on it.
Here is a pic of the car so the alterations can be seen.

    hi

I was chatting to this chap the other day..

he does the blasting but uses Salt and other methods, as sand and other blasting methods has been known to heat and warm the metal...leading to bumps and metal blistering...
