If theres any confusion on this ring your insurance company.
Much better than finding out the hard way.

As far as I know legally you can not a bother, but the only problem is if you do have an accident, you'll lose out big time, is it an expensive enough car?

13grand worth of an evo so expensive enough. I dont mind though as long as im insured in the eyes of the law then im happy

    - You can't own the car in question.
    - Your old lad doesnt have to insure it at all, it can be uninsured.
    - Im assuming you have a full licence
    - The car has to be taxed and roadworthy

This applies to Quinn Direct and Hibernian

I would not trust this statement unless you get it in writing from Quinn or Hibernian!

Most Insurance Companies specify that the vehicle MUST be insured in order for your 'driving other cars' extention to apply.

(Similarily, your are NOT covered on a Spouses/Partner's car under your 'driving other cars' extension - as the car is deemed legally to be partly owned by you)

Im with Axa, 21 male and have drive other cars on my policy. They told me I can drive any car up to 2.5l as long as its insured, doesnt matter if its a turbo charged Evo or 2.4l Volvo, as long as its under 2.5l, street legal and insured, tax'd etc I am ok.

Its only 3rd party though, if you crash :D

I rarely use it because of that.

yeah it depends who are u with.....
Axa wants the other car to be insured too...
In Quinn its called THIRD PARTY EXTENSION, which means dat if you are insured on any car(policy must be on your name only), then you can drive any other car you want, tho it mustn't be registered on your name!!!! and it must be NCT'd and TAXED.
One of my friends is insured on 97 A4 TDI but in fact he is driving EVO 5. I know he got pulled by gards few times and there was no problems.

I would like to confirm if your certificate of insurance says so,
we will cover you, the policyholder, for your liability to other people while you are driving any other privately owned vehicle which you do not own or
have not hired under a hire-purchase or lease agreement as long as :

Does not belong to you or your employer

Is not hired or leased by you or your employer

Is not a van, or a car van, or a jeep type vehicle

You currently hold a full EU licence

The use of the vehicle is covered on the certificate of
    insurance

Cover is not provided by any other insurance

You have the owners permission to drive the vehicle

The vehicle is in a roadworthy condition
    and
You still have your vehicle and it is not been damaged beyond
    costeffective repair.

Hibernian told me over the phone, but I'm not with Hibernian so I was just checking it out.

    I don't post bull****.
