What would you do?

I have been looking for a job for a while but cannot manage to get anything. I have about 10-14k savings and little to no committments. What would you do in my situation and how would you go about doing it? Should I leave Ireland? Holidays?? Or should I keep trying for job and keep the cash for a rainy day? Is it enough to keep me going for a while?

    Thanks

I;d head to India or Indonesia....

It's cheap as chips to live there, stay for a year or two until the economy picks up and then come back having lived somewhere else and if you can, maybe see about working in a local charity.

I have the cash but own my own business - if I didn't, I'd be off with my surfboard to Sri Lanka and Southern India til things got better.

    Enjoy.

Your main cost is your flight - after that you're talking cheap as.

Tell me more about india. Where abouts? Visas? How do you go about *living* there? How dangerous / rural is it? thanks!

India is awesome, you can do the whole country for cheap as chips.

You can get a six month tourist Visa:

If you want to stay for a year - look for some charity organisations there, there are some for schools who won't pay you but will pay for somewhere to sleep and for food.

India is huge and each area is completely different both culturally and scenery.

I have about 10-14k savings and little to no committments.

I think even 10-14k is enough to start investing in something, especially in any market today.

Just to emphasize the point, if you have that much money spare, look for any sort of job to get you by and look for something to invest the money in. Personally, I would look for the smaller technology companies that were doing well pre September 2008(do research though).

15K euro could/will be worth alot of money in 5 years time. The economy has or is bottoming out at the moment, if you have money to spare you can make alot of money better than the ssia used to if that gives context.

Put is this way, you will be able to buy shares at the moment at prices which are alot less than employees can buy at/exercise at.

Go Travelling. There will be no jobs here for a long time and you will regret it of you dont go now with no commitments. I mever travelled and now I cant so I will all always regret not going for a year long adventure. Good luck.
