Not the most uptodate website, but there used to be a Maths Help room:

    http://www.maths.tcd.ie/~mathshelp/

Still active anyone know? If not, exhaust the free options before you pay for grinds, as in talk to lecturers if you're having trouble understanding things, or get a few people you know in your class together to do group study sessions of the parts you're struggling with.

As for getting grinds, you could put up posters around the hamilton. If you do go that route remember it's expensive so maybe get a few others who are struggling too to get a group grind. I think there is still an SU list with people who give grinds - pop an e-mail up to education@tcdsu.org to ask about it (that's Hugh Sullivan's e-mail address), or else drop into House 6 on the 1st floor to ask about them.

The Maths helproom is open from 1-2 every day and 5-6 on Wed/Thur in Seminar Room 2.6 in the School of Mathematics (apparently).

Not during the break though, I'd imagine. ;p

Seeing as I give the Wednesday 5 o'clock helproom I can confirm that that one definitely happens...

The helprooms are helpful I imagine (I gave some, and my helpfulness to people varied quite wildly depending on what they asked), but feel free to ask those giving the helprooms (or other grad students) for one-on-one tutorial help. Some will give it for free (I would have), some won't, but they are an excellent source of info. You can put notices up in the Ham, but its always better to just make contact with someone.

.....and is it just 'maths' that there are helprooms for?, or are there other subjects catered for......this is great..just sorry now i didn't know this a couple of weeks ago.:( I'm on break now so will have to wait...still at least there is some help there when i get back
    thanks to all

There's a programming support centre as well:

If the person doing the Maths helproom is/was a TP they could help you with physics, theoretically.
