Claming back VRT when trading in up North..

    I want to trade my can in against a car in Northern Ireland, my car origianlly cam from northern Ireland, I paid close to €6k in VRT, can I claim it back in any way if the car goes out of the country again....

    No, but interestingly, if it goes back on UK plates, and a ROI person buys it, they won't have to pay VRT to import it.

    Reasonably-priced cars are selling here. Unless it's a very unusual car, it'll sell for more here than it will in NI.
