What should my MTU be on Imagine?

I asked Imagine and they told me "1400-1500" or just use my router default. When I was with Irish Broadband (yes, same company but not the same company yada yada yada) they gave a specific one I shoud use.

Is there a particular one I should use to get a better performance?

I believe 1492 is best (Ethernet standard), as long as it's in that range it won't make too much difference. A smaller figure in that range would be better if the line is prone to dropouts or disconnections but there really is no need to alter this figure. The ISP's MTU is controlled at the exchange and can't be changed, the router statistic is between itself and your computer.
