It's usually run as a handicap one either of the 2 batterestown circuits. Fast and furious is the order of the day and the IRC know how to put on a race so it'll be well marshaled and organized. (usually early 1100 or so but haven't seen that confirmed yet)

It will be handicapped, and as far as I know it will be two laps of Doreys forge(same course as Dublin Wheelers G.P./ Mick Lally).

Starts 11:00 from Dunboyne soccer club.

Same course as the Orwell club league opener as well? That little hill after Dorey's forge is a real pain in the ass.

yeah i heard there was also, think it was some S2 riders fell, nothing to serious as i wuldve heard bout it afterwards.

it culd have being when the S1 & S2 where together, not sure how serious it was thou

yeah, was a crash in the S1, S2 bunch. narrowly avoided it myself. saw a eurocycles rider lying in the ditch on the second lap. he must have been lying there for half an hour before the ambulance came around.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 885 ✭✭✭ryan_sherlock

I was in the A group that caught the Bs (I think it was 25minutes to catch the 2-3 min lead) and then got caught up in the crash. I took on some food and was making my way back up to the front when 2-3 riders in front of me went down. I contemplated trying to bunny hop but the bodies were too high and I went flying. More road rash but worst of all I hurt my back pretty badly. Phsyio this morning but luckily only muscular damage (as far as they can tell).

Pretty dangerous riding in such a big group on those roads - I was pretty annoyed, my legs felt good too.

The ambulance was there within a few minutes.

    Hi Ryan

Sorry to hear that, sorry you get better soon ! I rode the S2 race in dundalk and it was the same, when you guys caught us it was all over the road !! I was surprised something did not happen there, as the circuit was tight !!

So there was 2 crashes ? and you got caught up behind the 1st one ?

    Biker Joe

I only saw one crash - the one I was in. The one that occured about 4/5 of the way around the first circuit.
