Indoor/Outdoor Temperature Sensor

    Hi All,

I just bought one of those indoor/outdoor temperature sensors. It comes with a long thin wire and sensor that is for the outdoors part. I plan to install it into my '75 Merc R107, but am wondering where the best place to put the outside bit is?
One suggestion is to put is behind the front bumper - any ideas

    Cheers
    DJD

Wing mirror, they are away from the body and don't pick up engine heat.

Most newer cars have them located under the wing mirrors as per this suggestion, im not sure the size/shape of yours but mine are a little nipple/stud which is located on the underneath of the mirrors on each side...

The most common place originally used by Merecedes-Benz among others was locating it on the front lower panel/behind the bumper. I'm nearly certain an OTG (outside temp. guage) was fitted as standard to all late R107's from '86 on.

Edit: Check out a late R107, as it could be very possible to retro fit the original M-B guage or mount your sensor in the same location.
