I have two friends coming over to me from the UK in a couple of weeks for a weekend. One of the girls is getting married soon so it's a sort of a mini hen do. There's going to be 8 of us altogether and basically I'm looking for somewhere for us to go on the Sat night.
I live in Rhode but I'm not from the area(I'm from Tipp) so I haven't a clue where the good spots are. We're all in our early 30's.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Well if you live in rhode you have two realistic choices, Tullamore or Mullingar. Both are about 20-25 minutes away and both are serviced regularly by taxis on a Saturday night. Both are busy enough towns on a Saturday night more than capable of accomodating a mini hen. Really it's a coin toss between them, but personally I'd say mullingar (but that might be just because I'm too used to Tullamore)

Great, thanks. I think we might try Mullingar. What pubs would you suggest?

What age group and what night do you want.

    Typical hen? or Quiet hen?

btw Mullingar is in Westmeath so you might actually get better advice if you post there. Enjoy the night btw!

Banagher mite be the best place for ye to visit for your mini-hen.... Not a big town, plebtly of pubs all close by, a savage chipper for the end of night munchies... what more could u ask for?:D

Considering she is in Rhode, Banagher might be a bit of a spin, especially considering she'd be better off staying in Rhode :p
