Danielle, Alex and Ben Timeline

I am trying to figure out the whole Danielle, Alex and Ben timeline. From the show Ben arrived on the island when he was about 12 circa '77. Danieele arrive in '88 and Alex was born that year.

Now Danielle claims that Alex was taken immediately after birth - within a week or two. And as far as we know Ben has always claimed Alex as his own.

In '88 Ben would have been early 20s and 4 years before the purge and 4 years before he joined the Hostiles (Others).

Are we to believe that Richard and his people kidnapped Alex and then gave her to Ben to raise when he joined them? I think it's fair to say that Dharma didn't kidnap anyone and it's even possible that the kidnapping only started after the fertility issue came about.

    Any comments?

Ben is only 12 when he first meets Richard (in the woods on the island). Ben talks about having seen his mother and Richard tells him he can explain everything, but that it will take a long time and that Ben will need to be patient to understand. We don't see Ben again until the purge and, as I've said on other threads, I think that the period between these two incidents holds the keys to understanding the show.
