Anyone in line for special T-shirt?

Now that the dust has settled on Ballycotton, is anyone in line to qualify for the T-shirt awarded to participants in all 4 of the "Spring 10 Mile classics" (Mallow, Dungarvan, Ballycotton & Killinaboy).

I've completed the first three but it doesn't look likely that I'll make the trip to Co. Clare on April 12th mainly because of the Munster match (brutal traffic congestion expected in Limerick City that morning) plus it's Easter Sunday.

I'd love to complete all 4 so I won't rule it out of hand just yet. Maybe this new John Tracey 10 mile could be added to the spring classics instead of the Killinaboy one in future years?

I've done all three. Was thinking about Killinaboy as I'll probably be in Cork for Easter. Not that I'd do races just for goody bag :D

Forgot the match was on. I'll decide closer to the day.

The numbers are a lot less than the other races but I guess that's just down to location. Maybe the Tracey run could be added as a fifth leg rather than instead of?

    why instead of?
this race has been running for years it is 10 minutes from Ennis just beacause it doesn't suit you it should be replaced by a brand new race? again in Waterford (Dungarvan). What about all of us people in Clare that had to travel to Ballycotton last week! We only have 2 or 3 good races in Clare every year so leave it the hell alone.
    And it's Kilnaboy btw.

    Saucer of milk for Buck.

Only expressing an opinion - and opiniions have a tendency to be favoured by the expressor.

Kilnaboy, Kilnaboy, Kilnaboy - think I have it now.

I have one from a few years back - rotten green thing, but it was hard work getting it:-)

    I'm with Buck.
Why drop Kilnaboy? It's a great race with a great tradition.
You didn't offer any good reason for dropping it.

    Just throwing it out there.

In the middle of April and in a very scenic part of the country, less than 300 finished this race last year.
Meanwhile, in (boring old) Mallow on a pig of a day in January almost 600 completed the 10 mile race.
Fodder for debate, if nothing else.

Maybe Orobhsa has hit on an idea with 5 Spring classics.

One of the reasons for the low turnout is the tough hilly terrain, it really is a testing course and you could add a minute or 2 onto your Mallow or Dungarvan time here.
Tbh alot of people are scared off from it because
A - You're time will most likely not be a PB
B - It is perceived as being in the middle of the Burren i.e an hour from civilization.
C- It is probably not as well known as the likes of Ballycotton so attracts alot fewer people.

Again this year it unfortuately clashes with Munster's 1/4 final and Easter Sunday so numbers could be affected.
Pity it isn't on Easter Monday.

I won't be in for the t-shirt as I miseed Mallow and won't be making the trip to Clare

I think making it five races in the series is a great idea and only needing to complete
four out of five to get the t-shirt would be nice too as it gives some wiggle room to those that want to do the series but can't make a particular race for some reason

Incidentally, how do the organisers know who has completed all 4 races. Do you get your t-shirt on the day after completing K'boy or must the organisers painstakingly go through all four races checking to see who has completed all 4?

I've done this for a different series, and it's not that bad.
The trick is to work out who is 'on-course' for a tshirt in advance.
Some excel wizardry will tell you who has completed 3 races so far.

Once the results of the last race are worked out- either run some more excel wizardry, or just check your list of 'on course' people by hand.
