Boxey was Daniel before Cavil boxed him.

He was a sap so the directors decided to box him. Rightly so...*grumble*

Belongs in BSG heaven along with Muffet:

Considering the reimaged BSG is adult orientated unlike the original BSG there was little need for a character that would appeal to children. It also means we will not have to indure a possible reimaged BSG 1980 with an adult Boxey or flying scouts.

Also they would never get away with putting a chimp in a costume these days.

He died on New Caprica. Painfully.

I think they decided that the Boxey character was wrong for the show. Seeing the miniseries again made me cringe at the prospect of Boxey being the "lighthearted" element to episodes.

Thank the gods that Boxey and Muffet have been consigned to the "sucked the first time" bin of history...
Along with the flying bikes, not a bunch of airborne prossies but the bikes the guys had in Galactica 80 that could, incredibley and in a blaze of awesome sfx, take to the skies!

Yeah they already had every other character and the entire target audience to fill that role.

Well Cassiopiea, who became Boxey's foster mum in the original, was a socialator (prostitute) before the cylon attack. But then she fostered Boxey and became a nurse.:D
