Would Hooters work in Ireland?

No, not the device for making loud noises, the restaurant chain.

For the uninitiated, Hooters is the typical American Bar & Grill type restaurant chain, with the added benefit of the food being served by young ladies in hotpants and tight t-shirts (think TGI Fridays, except instead of some grumpy student bringing the food to you, it's some hawt wimmins. A bit like BGRH).

Now, before the feminists and get their iron-clad knickers in a twist, it's not all sleaze and smut. As I only found out recently, Sunday is Family Day in Hooters. Is there any better way to get Junior to eat his broccoli?

So, recession aside, would Hooters do well in Ireland?

Only with American women serving. Irish women with any amount of good looks do not believe in being friendly.

Irish women are always nice to me.

Anyway, you could then do what the Americans do - don't tip if the service isn't good.

I have it on good authority that most of the waitresses are working there to fund their respective PhDs and are well respected among the research community.

Well I'm assuming you're steering towards the fact that you would like to see nubile young things with ample breastulances serving you cabbage on a sunday. You'd probably like to have dreams where they are feeding you too but that's before you fall out of bed and crack your pyjamas.

They are someone's daughters, they won't be mine though!!

Well, judging by the number of restaurants outside of the US, it already is working.

I spent years living in the states and was in a few hooters (not sure how to word that really :-)
. Personally I thought there were a fairly poor franchise.
Used to think it was particularly pathetic on weekends when the place was full of divorced fathers trying to bond with their sons by bringing them to the t!t fest that was / is hooters.

Hooters makes you happy!!

It would be suited down around Temple bar inbetween the Road house cafe and a a sports bar. Perfect place for stag night eats before a big night boozing.

I'm not sure if Hooters would work. The idea is that good, friendly service by hot women is rewarded by tips from the punters. This runs counter to the culture in Ireland it seems.

Regarding women working in Hooters, my Current Daughter is approaching 21. She would look good in a Hooters uniform but would be a crap waitress, she is not overly fond of "serving". If she were so inclined, and was better suited, I'd be happy for her to have a job at Hooters, if she was going to waitress anyway. The company has a good rep for treating their employees well and the tips reportedly are good.

oh, and the wings kick a$$!

ive been to the hooters in san diego and the one in tenerife.theyre not sleazy at all, in both there were loads of families.yes the birds are stunners but the food aint half bad either especially the chicken wings.if its your birthday you'll get LOADS of attention off the hooters girls.
