Aired on monday over in the states. Had a look at it yesterday. Have to say I liked it. Will be interesting to see how it pans out and what kind or story there will be.. arc wise if they follow that kind of seasonal story arc kind of writing or just one off eps. Still though, enjoyable with some good laugh at moments.

Nope - it's a new Nathan Fillion show. It's actually very enjoyable as Fillion gets to do what he does best: being a loveable wise-ass rogue. The basic premise is that he, Castle, is a famous novelist who accompanies the police on investigations and uses his insights to help them solve it.

The show's get plenty of humour but, to me, it's Fillion's dry wit that really sells it. The supporting characters are pretty decent but he's the gel and just makes the show just damned likeable, even if the plots themselves are fairly generic.

There's a big push on this for Season two (including the online publication, in installments, of one of Castle's novels, penned by a real author) so hopefully it's give Fillion his deserved recognition.

I watched the first episode during the week and I must say I really liked it knowing only NF is the main man. Only problem is I died a little inside when I saw it was a cop show. I HATE cop shows even more Murder cop shows, I'll stick with it until i get bored as I always do with them. Maybe for Nathan Fillion I'll stick with it but I doubt it

Downloaded the first season, quite like it but as said the main draw is Mal- I mean Nathan. Popular with the ladies, I suspect.

I was in the US when the first episode aired and I really disliked it. It could have been the fact that there were ads every 90 seconds or so, so it was impossible to watch (how and why do they do that in America?!!!) But I thought the plot was too silly and the female lead was so uncharismatic she cancelled out Fillion's charm. I was really bored.

I'd have to agree that the female lead is a real cardboard cutout of a character but I think its worth giving another shot. Like I said I detest cop/murder shows but Nathan Fillion in it is keeping me somewhat interested.

It can be pretty dumb and its really formulaic but anything with Nathan Fillion is worth watching. Watched all of season 1 and am looking forward to season 2.

I agree that it's quite predictable, but anything with Joss at the helm is going to have some startling surprises. But it's not Joss directing... -sigh-

I don't think it has anything to do with Joss. This thread started when this was the Firefly/Serenity forum and this thread is just to do with Fillion's involvement.

Oh I'm not saying that this shouldn't be here, I'm just bemoaning the fact that it isn't Whedon with whom Fillion is paired.

It's quite a good show. Thought I'd worry about that the straight cop, quirky partner, drama market is getting a bit flooded at the moment with things like this, Life, bones, and the mentalist (I'm sure there's something I'm forgetting).

But this is good clean fun, and I hope it continues for a while.

I watched the Pilot after it aired and it didn't really do anything for me. I got a murder she wrote vibe, who knows I'll probably give it another chance when the dvds hit the shelves

To be honest I stared the thread to give support to the show. Even though this is the Joss Whedon forum, I think people should talk about the actors that have worked with him in past shows. Giving support to new shows and past cast members of Joss's shows.

Except Bones... that show sucks :P

I love the way most of Whedon's fans follow his past actors too. Cool, like.
