    Best National DJ
    • Alison CurtisToday FM
    • Dave FanningRTÉ 2fm
    • Tony Fenton – Today FM
    • Ray Foley – Today FM
    • Dan Hegarty – RTÉ 2fm
    • Rick O'Shea – RTÉ 2fm
    Best Regional DJ
    • KC and Lenny - RedFM
    • Dermot, Dave & Siobhan – Dublin's 98
    • Leigh Doyle – Beat 102-103
    • Mark Noble – FM 104
    • Jon Richards – Galway Bay FM
    • The Zoo Crew – Spin South West
I reckon KC and Ray Foley will win, not cuz they won last year, but because they (IMO) do great shows and they've been beggin' like mad. I reckon Mark Noble has a good chance of winning too. Excellent DJ.

So who do you think is gonna win the two DJ categories in the Meteor awards? Or who d'ya hope wins?

On what criteria do they decide the nominations for this award? Judging by the first four names in the national category, i can only think it's "most irritating noise-making twits on the planet".

To be brutally honest, Couldn't care less.

It's not an award of recognition from one's peers, or an award reflecting excellence from the industry.

Realistically, its not even an award from the general public : It is just a way to promote a youth-orientated mobile phone company by gathering together a list of broadcasters (of varying degrees of talent ) who's only commonality is that they have the potential to generate lots of text messages from a dedicated if exceptionally gullible army of supporters who seemingly believe the award actually means something, and are willing to spend their own money to prove it.

No offence, but to anyone who isn't working in ( or taken in by) Meteor's advertising department, the whole charade is completely meaningless. A good attempt at a viral marketing campaign, but a poor attempt at an award ceremony.

I agree, and if any station had the sense, they would charge Meteor for the cost of promoting their nominated dj.

    Actually, hold on.

They've been asking people to spend money to help them win a trophy?

    Really?

If this is true, I'm not sure who deserves the harder slap across the teeth with a fire extinguisher - The DJ's in question for begging the public for a metaphorical pat on the back and a packet of maltesers, or the gobshítes who follow their instructions and willingly spend good money on massaging these moron's egos.

No doubt it will turn out to be 'Just a bit of cleverly ironic pretence for ones lunchtime' I suppose.

    Shameful. Shameful.

It's a stupidity tax, completely voluntary too.

Anything voted upon by the public means nothing. Just look at the charts, Lisbon, the Government, all pointless.

Foley must spend thousands voting for himself - well done to everybody else that voted and thanks for keeping this annoying idiot on our radio for another year.
