    Hi people,

I have been sacked and given notice that my employment ends on the 23rd March.

Should I go to the social welfare office and sign on straight away anyway or do I need to wait until the 23rd? If not, will my payments only begin after the 23rd anyway? I will have no other household income and will need to apply for the supplementary support.

    Thanks very much.

Im not sure if you are meant to go in now or wait till the 23rd - in either case the SW payments would only start 3 working days after the 23rd anyway. If you are waiting it will be back dated.

Could you amalgamate all of irishbrain's posts into one?
