I understand that this is a bit early but as seeing as i get my payments from the Post Office every tuesday, i was just wondering as its a bank holiday( Paddys Day) next tuesday, does that mean theres no payment next week as the PO's are closed, or is it possibly a double payment the week after? Just wondering as there was a double payment before christmas IIRC!

You would want to phone the dole to find this out, but all I can tell you is that a friend of mine was told that you have about 2 or 3 days to collect your money from the post office before it expires. So if you can't get to collect it on Tuesday because of the bank holiday, it should still be there for you on the Wednesday, and possibly even the Thursday. Don't know exactly when it would expire, but they do give you a few days, so I'm told anyway, but still check it to be sure.

It will usually expire on the Friday so you'll have until the end of the week to collect it.

I'd imagine it would be the same everywhere. Social Welfare aren't deliberately b@st@rds.
