i have to spend 2 nights in bogota waiting for a connecting flight.ill land early evening in bogota have the next day there and my flight out is about 6 am the next morning.ive heard about bad traffic in bogota so i want to get somewhere that will be easy to get around from.theres 3 of us going there.so far the possible ideas are getting a hotel for the two nights around the airport and commuting so we wont have much travel to and from the airport, get a city centre hotel for two night, get a city centre hotel for one night and just sit around the airport the second night to save on the hotel as were leaving so early the second morning is there much point shelling out for a hotel?

so can anyone recommend good hotels, safe, good locations and clean and which plan would be best?in bogota were just having a day looking around the sights and probably go out for dinner and a few pints-thanks

It is a good few years since I was there, but the safest place in the city is the "zona rosa",not sure if that is the right spelling. There are loads of bars and restaurants there. Have a nice trip, I loved it in Columbia. Not what I expected at all.

    Anandamayi Hostel & Hotel

We had a great stay at this place. In fact, couldn't recommend it highly enough. Ideal location and very secure. The owner is a lovely woman.

‘Anandamayi’ is a very comfortable and inexpensive hostel in the loveliest house in la Candelaria old town. At extremely reasonable rates.
