Purchase Approval On Credit Card

    Hi, just wondering what the story is with purchase approval, i just bought some items on Amazon there (a few dvd sets) and when i logged in my 3v details to check the account balance there was €8 taken out for purchase approval. Is this money permanently gone? why is it €8? i don't get it, seems very steep. Quite annoying really as it's nearly 10% of what i put onto the account in the first place :mad:

    IIRC its basically a test thats done one your first purchase that takes out a sum of money to ensure they can charge the card. This is put back in again - either at a later date or taken off the cost of your purchase.

    Can see why this would cause problems with a 3V card though.
