Yeah, i was all ready to sit my test tomorrow (Tuesday), i just went to look for the letter the RSA sent to me and i see i was due to sit it today(Monday):(

I don't know how i made the mistake, i guess i just had it implanted in my head that it was tomorrow. I'm just after e-mailing them to see what my options are, i know that i'll have to repay my application fee but i'm hoping that they'll give me a priority time because they previously cancelled my original date at only a weeks notice.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Anyone any ideas of how to procede? I actually feel terrible, i was even kinda looking forward to doing it!

Oh yeah, and one other thing... my (2nd) learners permit expires in 2 or 3 days and i'm in the understanding that you can't get a third unless you take a driving test!!! Where does this leave me?

Any replies will be appreciated. Thank You.

Not 100% sure, but I think you have to show proof that you have applied for the test to apply for a third permit. I think thats it really. As far as getting the test as fast as possible, well you'll only find that out by calling up and asking really!

To obtain a 2 year 3rd Learner Permit, you must have proof of having taken a test.

You may obtain a 1 year 3rd Learner Permit if you show evidence of having applied for a test.

I wouldn't bother with the email to be honest. There's no guarantee that they'll be able to get back to you quickly. Pick up the phone and stay on it until you know what's happening.

    Yep, happened me. :P

What happened was I had a date for 24th March, but they rang me up the day before, the fella that was supposed to be doing my test wouldn't be in and would I mind if they rescheduled. I was glad of the extra practice time, and they sent a date for next month. Or at least I thought it was exactly a month. 23rd April came and I couldn't find the letter. I "knew" it was next day but couldn't remember what time and it was too late to ring. So 0800 next morning I rang them up, "lost my letter, what time's my test?" She says, "it was yesterday." But not only that, it was at quarter past eight, so I would've been late anyway!

But the thing that really pissed me off was people who thought I had failed and lied about it. Now that'd be just sad.

I can imagine people when you where telling them though! You think people are bad for thinking that?? I had my test canceled with SGS last December because of the weather, and when I rang to ask about a date THEY(SGS) told me they think I failed the test and was just trying to pull their leg, so I made a complaint with RSA on the Wednesday, got a phone call on Friday to say my test was on Monday, and passed :), with RSA, it was an interesting few days. :P
