    Hi Guys,

I am looking to get a road bike for healty/fitter life, nothing major at first just a Sat/Sun morning run around Howth/North county Dublin.

Can you point me in the direction of a bike that would suit me with a cost of 300-500 euro.

    Thanks in advance.

A few people here have Beone bikes and really like them. Apparently good bang for your buck.

Might be worth having a look at the wiki: http://wiki.boards.ie/wiki/Buying_a_bicycle

Thanks guys, is there a recommended bike shop north of the border. I would like to make use of the euro but would rather have the bike assembled for me ( do not trust myself to ordering online and having to adjust tehe gears/brakes)

Well an option would be to order in from the north/UK but get a LBS (local bike shop) to put it together for you. Not all of them will touch them so check with them first.

And the place Aquinas73 linked to are in Newry Ballyclare.

    quote from chain reaction

"If you are going to pay us a visit to see a particular product it would help us to help you if you call first to enquire about the availability of your chosen product."

they actually put in a new showroom last year

    more info here

guess theres lots of bike shops in the north but i tend to use chain reaction for most things (except last wheels were from bikedock in belfast)

Ritchies in Swords is a good shop, been getting stuff there for years and he's very good about advising what you need and setting the bike up etc.
I'd go for a dropped bar racer style bike definitely, and if you could up the budget a bit you'd get a lot better quality.
The UK imports are good value but not as much as they were with the exchange rate and I prefer to keep the spend locally if possible.

Sorry , putting my hand out to be slapped here but with the job on the line I need to look at a cheaper option.

I have an ad on adverts.ie for €150 but can I get anything decent for €200 -250 new or used.

Please remember this is a starter bike, any suggestions?

    Thanks.
