Lost engagement ring -insurance help

    hi, can anyone give me any assistance. Lost my engagement ring last week and cant simply find it anywhere. Over the tears now and just really hating my bare finger!!! I decided to register my claim today with the insurance company. We got engaged in the states and when i came home i had the ring valued here locally. It was over the price i paid for it in the states. but the jeweller valued it at the cost of replacing the same ring here. This is what i provided to the insurance company when adding the ring to the policy. i didnt ask any other questions. I have NO receipt of original purchase. He didnt pass much bother on saving it.... how will the insurance company deal with this. Will the insurance company go by valuation or penalise me because we do not have any receipt or proof of original purchase. :confused:

    Also another question. Will my insurance premium go up on my house.?
