Dangerous junctions and local knowledge

After returning home from Tesco's at clarehall about 30 mins ago, I was nearly creamed by a beamer! The road is the malahide road and spot is where the two lanes merge into one at the entrance to Belmayne. I was in the right hand lane (from local knowledge I know that the left has to merge into this lane) he came up shooting up the left and I I hadnt reacted quickly by turning into the belmayne turn off he would have hit me. Now this merge is poorly signposted but most people seem to know about keeping right or giving way here.

As I do quite a bit of travelling, I was wondering are there many other places accidents are common and where a bit local knowledge can save you risking one of these accidents happening to you?

Too many dodgy roads and road setups around, even temporary ones.

Was coming off the m50 southbound at the lucan turnoff heading west and as you come up out of the dip the outside lane just vanishes into nothing ... dam cones. Could have been a nasty collision there with the 4 lanes (or 5?) accross full in reasonable heavy fast moving traffic ..

Clarehall/Malahide road is a disaster all round. About 50% of the time when turning right off the N32 from the left of the two possible lanes some goon will cut straight across you from the right hand lane, usually without indicating. And then there's where the left lane and the bus lane merge at the Darndale roundabout. It can be an interesting place... ;)

The most dangerous new road I have come across it the Mitchelstown bypass built a few years ago. The slow lane ends at the crest of the hill northbound with minimal signs & road markings hard to see if traffic busy. Even for Ireland the road is stunning stupidity. :(
