Just see that Mc Closkey's odd have dramatically shifted from 1/4 to 1/10 with a number of bookies totally withdrawing the fight from their sites.

I was just going to scoop the 1/4 on betfair but I cant find out any recent revelations on google as to why the big change in favour towards Paul Mc Closkey.

Anybody hear anything ? fight is meant to be this weekend !!

It could be just that I'm a paronoid sceptic!!?

Sorry , I take it all back ! its a late change of opponent.

Original fighter was fellow Scot Morrison , and not Harrison.

    I don't know how I missed that when I looked first time:rolleyes:

I can't get excited with Paul, his style doesn't do
it for me; too many wild and looping punches.

    Thanks

    Your welcome :)

By the way ,.... I really like his style !
he looks very skillful , but low guard and plenty of movement . A little un-orthadox whilst throwing punches , but I think i'd like to see him hit a bit harder.

Sky Sports coverage is the reason it's on in Liverpool, McCloskey's team obviously wanted it in Ireland but Sky didn't want to have to move their equipment to Ireland and then have it back for the Khan fight in Manchester the next day so they've put it in a place close to Manchester which will probably still sell okay(ish).

Dean Harrison is a tough determined fighter with a good workrate, but skill wise he'll be way out classed by McCloskey. This should be a routine defense for the Dungiven man.

Mc Closkey will either stop him between rounds or take a wide decision

Saw his last fight and wasn't impressed with him, after the fight I figured Mc Closkey would destroy him which I expect to see him do tonight. Mc Closkey may have a very tough fight after Harrison

Yeah beauty of a left hand in the first, fair play to Harrison for getting back up. Good stoppage as well. I can see him walking on to some heavy shots down the line but I suppose thats just part and parcel of his style. Lovely puncher.
So is it Branco next for him and how do you think he will do against him? Very goos opponent for him I think aside from the fact that he has the ebu title, 2 stints as european champ and challenged cotto and gatti for world titles.

possibly he is second in line with the EBU but I believe he may have to face Jose Aloseguen next which would be nearly a World title eliminator because Aloseguen is ranked quiete high by the WBC

Is he his mandatory for the British title? dont recall seeing him in action but on paper it looks like a competitive fight. Oluseguns commonwealth title would be on the line too Id imagine.

Yes he is mandatory for the British title but his camp are looking for a WBC eliminator. He was as far as #3 in the WBC but slipped to #6 just before his recent defense(so he may go back up). So I'm not sure his camp will be able to pull off getting a WBC shot,

Branco v Witter is next for the European title, but Witter is also trying to get a WBC shot, he might get a WBC elimimator against Devon Alexander or even a fight for the interim WBC title against Alexander but for some reason that fight has been slow in getting together and his back up plan(to fight Branco) has been stalled aswell as the Italian(who's camp are notorious for getting postponements by the EBU) has got a potential fight postponed.

If Witter were to get the WBC fight, McCloskey would step in against Branco.
If Olusegun gets an eliminator expect Lenny Daws to be announced as British title mandatory.

There's way too many sub-plots to this story to be sure of what is happening next, however just expect McCloskey to defend his British title again next and get a European title later on in the year providing he doesn't lose beforehand.

I got to see Paul's fight. He did well and totally dominated.
Again, his style is awful imo.

He is so awkward and hard to watch. That lunging in, jumping in, wild
swings. He reminds me slightly of Naz. I just can't take to a guy who
cannot throw a straight combination. His right jab is side slap.

He's good to watch in my opinion,....but

I think he may be a one-trick pony to some degree.
He has a fantastic counter punch , but he wont hit a top pro with it any more than 5 or 6 times before he's totally worked out by his opponent.
