I've used it and their servicing since I bought a Vostok and a Poljot.

    Poljot24.de

    Have a look.

See, now you've upset me. I had just about persuaded myself that I don't need another watch, but.......

Recently got a 1990 Tudor Prince Day Date.

It's my first "proper" watch and I absolutely love it!

These are definitely not 'Character scratches' believe me. I can feel them with my finger nail.

I think I'll just have to get it polished. It's a bit of a balls having to get it done so soon after buying it.

And yes, as another guy said thank God its not the bezel.

I know part and parcel of the appeal of a SS Rolex is the bracelet, but if it is a watch you want to wear on a regular basis perhaps buy an Oysterflex or nice leather or NATO and wear it on that apart from "special" occasions?

I really like Vostoks and I'd probably have 10 of them. Only reason I don't is changing the date is a pain in the arse if you don't wear it all the time. Any time I go to wear mine I have to go through about 25 days.

The day my Vostok arrived the date was one day ahead on the watch from the actual date. Going through the full day wheel to get the date set wasn't the most enjoyable experience.

Every time I decide to wear mine it seems to be one day ahead. You can go from 8pm to 2am and back again but it still takes ages.

Every time I decide to wear a Vostok I just ignore the date. But if that makes your OCD twitch, they have quite a few with no date function.

You just need to wait in and around 5 more days a month to wear it.

Going a bit vintage and classy today. An IWC from 1961. It's an unusually big one at 35.5mm excluding crown.

The one thing I will be changing on it though is to put a broader crown on it.
The one on it now is original but really small and delicate. So will change it out for broader one.
I will of course keep the original in storage.

Well, thanks to Lorddrakul my Russian Watch itch is scratched.
    Arrived this morning :

    Well wear, sir!

It is a very nice watch.

On getting a local watch dude to look at my first Vostok, he had a good poke about at it and pronounced "it will either fall apart tomorrow, or you'll leave it to your grandchildren."

    That was 17 years ago!

I don't have grand children yet.

    :)

    They've mechanical movements RD.

    That's a ringer for a navitimer.

    That's a ringer for a navitimer.

Sinn bought the rights to the Navitimer design a long with a load of cases, dials, movements etc. in the 70's from Breitling when they were going bust.

Reminds me of this article extolling the robustness of Soviet watches.

    Good God.

So a 70's Sinn would effectively be a Breitling?

    Speaking of Sinn...
I saw their 206 Arktis for the 1st time earlier today.

The blue dial is quite lovely.

I think I'd still prefer the 203 Arktis. More practical size for me, and I rarely need to use chronograph underwater. Don't see them coming up for sale too much anymore.

Yes but they are not exactly budget prices

Yes! The only difference between the 1st Sinn Navtimers and the Breitling of the same era is the name printed on the dial.

The modern 903 is superior in construction and even rated to 100m.

    903 is a super watch
