any one hear anything about back on the road in the 1.30 tomorrow?? i was told to watch out for him wherever he runs,and just looked at his form. he bet horner woods 2 starts ago, and horner woods franked the form big time running a cracker behind cooldine today!!

Jewson Novices
A next to impossible one to start the day with. The favourite is Northern Alliance on the basis of a run 3 starts ago over a lesser distance. With Tony Martin out of form also he is very opposable.
Next up Kia Kaha, has one over the distance and with Ap and Johnjo on form a case can be made, however I cant see him getting the hill in Cheltenham. Also I note that he has drifted on all three previous starts so maybe he isnt well thought of by connections. Next in the betting is Chaptourgen who has never ran over the distance. Then comes Naiad du Misselot and Tranquil Sea who havent shown there best form in some time. My selection goes to Back on the Road on the basis that he had Horner Woods behind him two starts ago, and Horner Woods ran an absolute cracker behind Cooldine today.

Verdict: Back on the Road 0.5pts e/w 20/1

Pertemps Final

Another ultra competitive one here. Dont Push it seems to be the one most likely here. Looks as if he has been laid out for this race. Both his last starts were at Cheltenham and was second both times over the same distance to classy horses in Big Bucks and Fair Along. He has had most of the field behind him in other races. Ballydub has got the better of him but there has been a huge swing in the weights since.

Verdict: Dont Push It 1pt win 7/1

Ryanair Chase

Ive said it previously that Voy por Ustedes is my banker for the week. I still cant find anything that will beat him. I wont even say anymore on this race. Nap.

Verdict: Voy por Ustedes 4pt win 11/10

World Hurdle

If Kasbah Bliss runs like he did last year he wins end of story. Big Bucks has accounted for Punchestowns last time out however his time on Good to Soft at the trip in Cheltenham is still 23 seconds slower than Kasbah Bliss run on slightly softer last year in this race. The trainer has said he is as good as Baracouda. Should win if right on the day.
A horse I will give a mention to is Oliver McKiernans horse Whatyouthink at 100/1. It was badly hampered by Catch Me two starts ago and should have been given the race, prob a case of the big trainer getting the verdict! He will stay up the hill and the price seems massive for him to run into a place.

Verdict: Kasbah Bliss 3pt win 5/4

Festival Plate

An absolutely mind boggling race. I honestly could pick 10 here and mightnt even get one placed. I havent a clue.
As a token selection Im gonna pick Perce Rock, a horse who Iseems to be improving stepping back up in trip.

Verdict: Perce Rock 1pt win 9/1

Kim Muir Challenge

Honestly I no longer have the time and patience to look at this race. Its impossible to figure out. Pick a number between 1 and 24 and back that.

Verdict: Your guess is as good as mine.

Isn't that lucky is great value on the form, and there is plenty of support for him after is ride last week and previous runs behind some decent lots. Jonjo o neill raves about him. Christian williams thinks Exmoor Ranger is a superstar in the making and ill be backing him based on his last race and his beating of Kornati kid who ran well today. Astarador is really confusing me, but ill have a small e/w based on his close finish to kalahari king in his last run.

a heinz is 57 bets made up from 6 selections - doubles, trebles, 4-fold, 5 fold & 6-fold. so if you do a €1 win heinz it will cost €57

4/5/6-folds are accumulators with 4/5/6 selections in them.

dont worry, it works 60% of the time... All of the time!


Apart from Voy por and Kasbah, my lock of the day is Pancake e/w @1.30 and Oodachee e/w @4.40 ... its a pretty big lock.

Kasbah Bliss hasn't won in 4 attempts at Cheltenham...proceed with caution as 6/5 is a crazy price considering Cooldine's 4/1 this time yesterday. He should win but I wouldn't be lumping

(has form in graded company and 7 year old's traditionally do well in this race)

2.05 Beauno Visto 9/1
(Fifth to Ballyfitz in this last season off a 7lbs higher mark, though hasn't shown a huge amount once again this season; handicapper giving him a chance now, though, and could improve on last year's position)

4.00 Notable Destruval 8/1
(Has obviously been trained with a big race in mind as two of his three starts this season have come over hurdles. Has won a valuable handicap chase at Punchestown last April when the ground was riding good and also has beaten Welsh National winner Notre Pere in the recent past. Yard not averse to landing a coup here and any significant moves in the market must be heeded)


4.40 Poker De Sivola 5/1
Ferdy Murphy & Nina have great claims here. He needs decent ground to be seen at his best and gets that here. Only worry being hasn't won for a year and fell the last time when under no pressure. Odd's shortening and I take it to win)
