Brilliant - had no idea it was back...

South Park is back on Wednesday (in the US) with the first episode of season 13, Sweet !!

The first episode tackles those lovely Jonas brothers so I expect some A1 p!ss taking

Any other guesses as to what/who will be featured this season ?
I suppose the old recession will probably get an episode

The standard started to wane many seasons ago, alas like many American TV shows of late. The rapier wit and uncouth humour of earlier seasons has all but disappeared and now they seem content in delivering hackneyed plots and the humour can be heard being scraped from the bottom of an empty barrel.

Thought the last season was a little ropey, but the three before that were quality. Fingers crossed

Yea my expectations are low for this season. First half of season 11 was brilliant, since then there hasn't really been a good episode to speak of.

Hopefully this season will bring the standard back up again. It has been weaning for the last few seasons. But there have been a few very good episodes. The start of season 11 and in season 12 there was Major Boobage and Over Logging.

Paramount are showing the first ep of season 13 on Friday at 10pm, for anyone that's isn't gonna be downloading it. Never realised they were ths up to date with the States before, or is this the first time they've been this close?

    For anyone that doesn't know, all episodes of South Park can be watched (entirely legally) here;

They never were before but there is no reason for them not to be.

There were a couple of good episodes, but a lot of poor ones too. Seems to be about 1 in 4 are any good. Hopefully there will be an improvement, but I'm not looking forward to this first one, as I have no idea who the Jonas brothers are. I hate the ones where I've no idea who they're taking the piss out of.

I can't wait! it's worth sitting through the bad epsiodes to get to the good ones, the high school musical one was hilarious!! 'I'll slap you so super hard'
I forgive those two all their bad epsiodes, seeing they're on the 13seasons and it hasn't devolved to the level of suckage the simpsons and family guy have and thats only on its 8th season

I'd completely forgotten about this starting again. Hopefully the standard will improve this season, but it doesn't look like it if it's starting off with a show about some celebrities I've never heard of. Most of the celebrity episodes are poor (except the mel gibson one of course)

for those who dont know the jonas brothers (why the hell would you unless your a disney lovin little kiddie) they are a band of 3 brothers that star on and made their name via disney tv and have a very very wholesome image it is this wholesome image that SP is going to totally rip on, in particular this part of their image:
    Wiki wrote:
to signify their vow to abstain from premarital sex, on their left-hand ring finger they all wear purity rings, which Russell Brand made fun of during the MTV Video Music Awards. Brand held up a silver ring, claiming to have relieved one of the brothers of his virginity, and said: "Well done the Jonas Brothers. Each wear a ring to say they are not going to have sex; I'd take them more seriously if they wore it around their genitals." Brand later faced criticism and apologized for his comments. Joe has said that the rings symbolize "a promise to ourselves and to God that we'll stay pure till marriage," and Nick had stated that "it's purity rings pretty awesome, and the rings are just one of our ways of kind of like being different than everybody else out there." They reportedly started wearing the rings when their parents, Denise and Kevin Sr., asked them if they wanted to. They also reportedly abstain from alcohol, tobacco, and drugs.

Tried that for a while but it's just a pain in the hole (they stick in the odd commerical, the seek funcation isn't smooth and the ep has to be one month old before they put it up) so I went back to getting the torrents.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,013 ✭✭✭SirLemonhead

I don't know about the newer episodes, but the commericals are gone (that irritating fat guy with the bleached hair talking about eating chicken or something..)

The new episodes should be on the site straight away after they air.

I just checked. S13 Episode 1 is up and it has no commercials :) You can see the little white markers on the timeline when the ads used to play but it just skips over them

What about the tom cruise scientology episode!!! season 13 really didn't get off to a great start unfortunately!

Both of those were absolutely brilliant, as was the J-Lo and Ben Afleck one.
Joe has said that the rings symbolize "a promise to ourselves and to God that we'll stay pure till marriage," and Nick had stated that "it's purity rings pretty awesome, and the rings are just one of our ways of kind of like being different than everybody else out there." So they're a bunch of dry sh1tes then? This could actually be very good.

Yes you're right actually, I've been proven wrong again it seems!

New episode was a bit sh*t. Best part for me

Thought episode 1 was good. Some great lines in it.

"You like taking the Jonas brothers hot foam in your faces girls?"

Thought it was total ****, just like the last few episodes of the last season.

    Hope they can improve.

Really wasn't that good, it's a sad state of affairs when the simpsons are catching up with the latest episodes of south park in terms of quality. I know it's only the first episode of the new season but the last few epsiodes of season 12 weren't that good either. hope it improves.

Are you serious? I know series 12 ended on a mid note but tbh comparing it with recent Simpson's is insulting.

I thought the episode had some funny moments, but no where near as good as it should have been.

you've got to be kidding. HAHA

    *paces across room wearing shades*.

as bad as the simpsons? HAHA.

Very poor start, can't remember laughing once during the ep. Fortunatley we'll get a couple of quality eps during the season, which is more than can be said for the Simpsons or Family Guy. Keep the faith!

Thought it was quite solid. I loved the ending, really old-school South Park.

    Mickey Mouse was great.

I thought it was OK, but as a season opener, not great. It's a good topic, all that Hannah Montana type crap is basically selling sex to children, but making it look wholesome.
Micky Mouse being the boss, and kicking the crap out of generic boy-band member #1 was pretty funny.

If you really don't care about Disney, or any of that tweenie-bopper stuff, then this will all be fairly meaningless to you.

Cartman: "Yes I would Mr Jefferson.. you're so awesome Mr Jefferson"

its a very interesting idea, purity rings etc being about selling sex and all those christian sex therapits and former sex addicts,i've read about it before and if you hadn't heard the idea before it was a very good prog.
