    Yes, you can do that, but the space blanket may be difficult to use in this situation. As you said, you could staple it up, but that's not ideal. You need to leave space behind the insulation for ventilation.
    You really need something more rigid like Kingspan.

    Paddy u need to leave an airgap between the KS and the roofing felt: plenty on this forum about it
