This site has forums for christianity, islam, magic and illusions, pro wrestling, pholosophy, spirituality, paganism and mustard, to name but a few. Are you really gonna try and draw the line on where the hocus-pocus is and what's "real" enough to warrent discussion?

If you don't like it or agree with it then don't read it, simple

Hey discussion is fine, it's just the online readings I'm asking about. I'm not questioning the forum itself.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 9,689 Mod ✭✭✭✭stevenmu

It's purely for fun. If people don't agree with it, they're entirely free to not click on it. To answer your question more specifically, I don't see it causing any harm

They have a charter set up on it.

and a thread to discuss the pro/cons of it.

If you would explain why you think that it is bad for boards.ie to have "this sort of hocus-pocus carry-on" in that forum - then you may get a better response to your question. Then again, maybe not.

It is no more harmful than the Monster Creation thread or any threads on the CT forum. As already pointed out, they also have a charter set up on it and a thread to discuss the pro/cons of it.
    I see no problem.

you have the ability to judge whether or not this is hocus-pocus or not. Do you think that other boardsies lack the same ability? Who are you protecting?

I'm far more worried that the hocus pocus could be true and someone on that forum will open the gates of hell and bring forth Armageddon.

I think this is equally as likely as something bad happening from an online psychic reading.

A quick look at the forums you frequent and by looking at the sytles of your posts, it occurs to me that you are a person of science and because of that, refuse to believe in such things as paranormal and physic powers and what not. I am not a man who believes so much so either but i am someone who has respect for other people's beliefs. You should too.

Boards.ie is unique in the sense that it can bring people of different communities/religions/beliefs/socio-econoomic background to converse on a common medium. You frequent lots of forums here on boards, wouldnt you be disappointed and feel hard done by if your favourite forum was closed down. Open your mind a little, expand you horizons and respect others and their beliefs.

Yeah I totally understand now, I was just wondering was it wise for boards to be giving people this sort of guidance. I didn't see the charter where it states that it's for entertainment. All is ok now :-)

even then it isnt Boards.ie Ltd giving guidance/advice/whatever.
    Its users.

Yeah but under Irish law aren't the owners of boards.ie liable for whatever goes on on the site, not the posters?

Why are you so concerned about this ?
Why this topic rather then what gets said in PI/RI or parenting ?

    Not Your Ornery Onager

1,2,4,8,16,32,64 - is that enough? Will I win? Why are there a sh!tload of zero reply threads over there? Is it because I is skeptical?

iirc, only one poster ever gave readings consistently. This is why theres all the zero reply threads. And no, you wont win.
