I am considering buying a Daihatsu Terios. I was just wondering if anybody out there could offer any info/advice on its reliability, fuel consumption and availability of spare parts. Really I am looking for some information from any previous / current Daihatsu Terios owners and what they though of the car itself

    Why?
    What's wrong with the Terios?

The early terios is very narrow - not even a pretend middle seat in the back. Looks sort of SUV-ish from the side, but you see how small it is from the front or back. 1.3 litre engine isn't too quick either. I can't see the point of it.

    sorry had to laugh there.

OP, what are you looking for from a car? How much do you want to spend? If you are looking for an suv look i can tell you from experience, the terios are plain nasty. The liana isn't too hot either. Think the ignis is probably the best of the 3 but they all fall well behind the best cars in the class. Give some more info on what you're looking for and you'll get some good suggestions and advice

Gf's sister has one, cites the 'I like being up high as a factor'. Personally I think it's an awful driving experience, it pitches and rolls like a boat, has numb steering, a vague gearchange and no ownership appeal at all but that's just me.

There's a lot of competition in that crossover-y segment. What about a Toyota RAV4 2-door or the good-looking Honda HR-V?

The Ignis is a great suggestion actually, it has a nice high driving position if that's what you're looking for and the Ignis Sport is a really, really underrated city car, very entertaining to drive and not shabby in terms of performance figures.

Here's an 05 dealer one with delivery mileage for €7,500
