    Hello,

I was wondering if any of you could give some feedback/criticism of my website - FarmAds.ie

Its a simple site that provides free ads for anythings to do with farming.

There are currently about 1000 unique Irish visitors per month (and rising steadily), and there are 300+ ads.

    Thanks,
    Philip

robo well done in setting up this web site, the first thing i did was created a short cut on my computer to the site.how long has the site been up and running i get all agri mags and farmers journal and have never seen an add [advertise] i think it will take off.there are some other sites just specialize in cattle so you are up against other sites but yet again they are not advertised, i came across one in the journal this week where a guy said you could look up his animal on the net ,and when i went there it was a whole site for selling cattle which i did not know was in existence. farmers love to know the price ifpeople are going to put an item up for sale then / price .location/are important.i can never understand at the plouging match ever year companies selling machinery and not one price up.westwood trailers beeing the exception .the best of luck with this, as i have said already i have short cut to my desk top already.

Yea, I think I got a messsage from you through youtube, Irishmonkey isn't it, well he was Philip anyway, so I presume its the same person!

Site looks ok to be honest, even if its not that full yet, and I prob will use it or at least browse through it.

I'd be careful about how you go advertising it though, especially on youtube, I remember there was one site that opened up a few months back, it was like a youtube for tractors, and the way it was promoted was by taking other peoples videos and re posting them under a new profile for the sole purpose of advertising. That really pissed people off, me included as one of my videos was reposted. Not sayin thats happening here, but something to bear in mind,

How else are you promoting it apart from online?

    hey lads,

    Thanks for the reply,

    RE: Foxman
You're right that its not it's not as busy as it could be yet, I have been promoting it through SMS and will be handing out flyers at marts in a few weeks. Planning to put a few ads on local radio too. Any ideas you have, throw them my way!

    RE: legwax
The site has been going properly since January, it was online for testing before Christmas. You're right, I will add a price field . Advertising in the FJ is expensive enough, I would like to put in a good size colour ad at some point.

    RE: cormywormy
Your username makes me think of Korma, which reminds me that I am hungry and must be off, my dinner awaits.

If you want to advertise, there is a fee you pay to the owners of this site.

    Post reported.
