    the radius is given in cm not m.

    As the length is in metres you need to convert it first.

    length is 30m, convert to cm multiply by 100.

    now everything is in cm and you can do the calc.

    He was just converting the length from 30m to 3000cm.

    Took me a couple minutes to notice that!
