Right well I suppose I may as well look into getting a mic at this stage. I'm told you can use any usb mic?

I'm not a big fan of headsets tbh.

Main thing I'm looking for would be a mic with an on-off/mute button so I dont end up being one of those idiots who have their mic in but aint using it, but everyone can hear me.

Had a good few times in SF4 where'd I'd be playing a guy and I can hear everything thats going on in his sitting room and him talking to his mates about me while I'm fighting him...

So I'd like one with a switch so I can say "good game" to someone when I wanna say something, but not have them hear when I'm not talking to them.

Any tips , recommendations? General mic advice for the ps3?

The USB mic for rock band even works, as I found when playing COD online one night, swearing and shouting like I usually do, then noticed the little speaker icon with my name next to it flashing away. As does the PSEye camera I think.

Funny stuff there. But yeah I just had yet another game with some american guy chatting (to people in the room) while I was fighting him.

I mean its can be pretty damn funny most of the time, to actually hear they're reactions as I'm unleashing hell on them. But they all seem really hard to hear. I mean I have to lean forward near my speakers to try and hear them fully.

And I have the games volume down and voice chat volume up. Does everyone on PSN just have really ****ty mics or what?

Sorry its just I'm coming from playing on the PC where you normally have a push to talk option and just have people talk out from the speakers. Do I have to get a head set to even hear people properly?

    Whats the deal?

yeah but does this mean all the sound from the game comes out in the head set or just the guys voice?

Anyway I'm not really willing to spend 40euro on a mic....
