    Any help appreciated!

Not to be taken literally of course, it'd be quiet uncomfortable. :D

It's simply a Dublin way of telling you to f**k off.

The full version of that saying normally goes like this.

Annoying person asks Dub a question etc.

Dub: "Do you know where the Five lamps is."

Annoyer: " Oh yea. Its near the North Strand isn't it"

Dub: " Well go hang yer bollix of it"

No self respecting Dub should ever get caught with this

I heard people say "See that tree over there?"..
    "Why,yes.Yes,i do".
."Well hang your bollocks off it".
    Or
    "hop your bollocks off it".

A work colleague of mine used to say, after hearing bad news etc., "It's enough to make you want to hang your bollocks on the clock".

I always thought it was a bit stupid and attention seeking!

As I understand it, it someone asks a Dublin person for directions, if the Dub doesn't wish to give the proper answer for any reason, he would answer by asking his questioner the 5 lamps question. If the answer to the 5 lamps question is in the affirmative, the questioner is then invited to carry out this difficult testicular challange. It's just a small example of the world renowned Dublin wit.
