http://www.thomann.de/ie/epiphone_les_paul_ultra_ii_me.htm. The reason why I went for a 3/4 size guitar is, because I am confined to a wheelchair and I am unable to manage a full-size guitar(I have tried a full-size Fender Strat, and a full-size Hohner Les Paul copy)because the neck is usually too long, or the body is too wide.....??

    Opinions/suggestions welcome.

Personally, I think something like this would be better value for money, sound better and would probably suit your needs a bit better.

Actually that LP isn't 3/4 scale, it's 24 and 3/4 inch scale whereas Fender's scale length would be 25 and 1/2 inch. There's not going to be much of a difference between the LP and the Strat, maybe a difference in feel.

But one thing I did find is that it's easier for me to play my Les Paul sitting down than my previous strat and tele. The neck is at a different angle and the cutout and lack of contouring makes it stay in place better.

Might be a good idea for you try out a Les Paul in a shop to see how comfortable you are with it. Any one should do, and then if you're happy you could get that one you linked to. :D

Guitarist reviewed these, if I recall they said they sounded like a tele capo'd at the fourth fret? Might be worth doing a bit of googling on them.
Again, they're not exactly lookers though.

Just to say, the Les Paul Supreme was always conceived as a chambered guitar. The chambers were never intended for weight relief, according to Gibson that is.

Mental Mickey, do a google search for what a lap steel is...

I will say this though - the lap steel is a totally different beast to guitar played Spanish style. While they are certainly awesome in their own right, I wouldn't settle if that's not what you really want. I think your best bet would be to go to your local music store and try out guitars. Only you know what you will feel comfortable playing. We can make suggestions but, ultimately, only you can work out what you need.

One of those....? Not what I was thinking of......? I'm more interested in the conventional guitars.

Maybe a Gibson Les Paul Vixen? http://www.nevadamusic.co.uk/Guitars/Electric_Guitars/Electric_Guitars/p6962.aspx

Thinner body and neck with Strat style contours and very lightweight.

As far as I know Waltons dont have one and since they have been recently discontinued they probably will never have one.

I did find some pictures that highlights the body size/shape to give you a better idea of what these are like:

Im pretty sure Xmusic dont but I completely forgot about the northside Waltons, I havnt been in there in years! They might.

Edit: Also look out for the Goddess series Gibsons, they have also been discontinued recently but there seems to be a fair few of them available online still. They are made in the same vain as the Vixen series with a smaller, thinner body. The Goddess SG is roughly the same price as the Les Paul Vixen:

i have the standard version of this guitar - while its not one of the 'great' guitars it is very handy and i have gigged with it a few times quite happily

i think its 7/8 scale, so not too far from full size - you can see that the back end of the body has been cut down and thats how they make it so small

Best try it out first. TBH I think you are the only one who can say for sure what size guitar you need.

its only half size mickey so the difference between a 'real' guitar would be great - i think you would be better off with the pignose @ 7/8 size its pretty close to standard

It seems to me that that guitar is a rare item?? That sends alarm bell signals to me. Sounds like it would be very difficult to come across one.....??

Hi, Hofner make a Shorty guitar. It is a normal scale length but has most of the body cut away. They look strange but play well. I think John Mayall used to play something like it.

thats a bit misleading, eastwood make repro's of guitars from the 50's/60's/70's by brands long gone out of production or models long discontinued

here's a great shop in the UK thats stocks eastwood
