Anyone know where I could get a torque wrench repaired, it's a Draper non-digital? The socket attachment has sheared off.

    Cheers.

Talk to the guys in McQuillans. They are very big Draper dealer and should be able to help.

I'd imagine unless the wrench is worth over €100 it would not be commercially viable to have it repaired, better off replacing, unless it has some sentimental value :D

It fairly new and it cost me €150 so hopefully I can get it repaired on the cheap.

 You mean the square drive?
If someone was swinging out of it enough to break that then you can assume it's waaaay out of calibration now too. If it can't be calibrated reasonably cheaply then you may as well throw it out as the numbers on it will mean nothing anymore.

Alternatively, if it is fairly new you might be lucky and get it done under warranty.

Yeah I mean the square drive :(

I have a feeling it's completely fooked, but it's worth a try to see if it can be repaired.

Not worth repairing. Apart from no parts available to repair it, and the cost if they were, the wrench has been over-stressed and it'll be useless.

Chalk it up to experience, and get a new one.

We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

    Jesus no!

It was being used to tighten a clutch nut on a racing kart. I think the socket wasn't fully on and that's what caused the square drive to shear. The square drive is broken right at the end. Sure I'll give McQuillans a bell and if they laugh at me then I'll just get a new one. Feck.

Under normal conditions there's no way that it should have happened. I'd say it's a materials/manufacturing defect and you should be entitled to a full refund/replacement. If you don't have the receipt anymore, I think you should try Draper themselves.
