    Howdee,

Hopefully I can get the pics up.

I could have and should have gotten this a few years ago:

    The ESP Ltd Hybrid II.

    The Jackson Surfcaster (various types)

In fact any type of Jackson without a pointy head would get my attention, as any Jackson I have played always felt great...

    Ibanez Jem777 LNG :
    777lng4da.jpg

Bright green with pink pickups, yellow knobs and a maple board, what's not to like?! :D

Of course, this was the first Jem made ('87), if they actually re-issued it, they'd likely charge 10 grand or something :(

    Fender starcaster.

The lead guitarist of radiohead was just about the only (good :)) guitarist to ever use it. It's very good for jangly indie rock, similiar to a thinline telecaster.

Very rare though, it wasn't received very well by the public. Was only in production for a few years.

Bizarrely, my friend's Dad has an old skool Jem. It's in hot pink rather than green. And he's in his late forties. It's pretty awesome.

wouldn't mind them bringing the Marauder into the fold either,(only 8 ever made)
it would be easily done with modern hi-gain pickups

Is it my eyesight, or are the frets on the front one angled? Be interesting to try that one..

I like how the one Jonny Greenwood fan gets pointed out, this place is crawling with Steve Vai fans, is it not? :P

Plus about nine million on the Starcaster, it's such a beast of a guitar.

I find the idea of a middle aged business executive playing a hot pink, 1980s Jem far more entertaining than Steve Vai could ever be!

The diamond jack plate is cheese de-luxe though :P

Yep, totally. They should have put a recessed strat type on the inside of the V.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing, i adore radiohead, and mr. greenwood is insanely underrated (and not just in alternative circles!!).

Whereas Steve Vai fanboys are nothing new, with their messed up strats, and crazy whammys!!. Johnny greenwood fans are unique :).

+1 on the starcaster, but i dont know if it'd be my first choice to bring back. In theory, you could just get a thinline tele, or a rickenbacker, and stick in some wide-range humbuckers, and you wouldn't be far off :).

I rather like the diamond jack on the flying v.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,034 ✭✭✭rcaz

    JOHNNY GREENWOOD FAN!!! :D.

    You got me :P

And as for the thinline Tele idea, true, but from a purely aesthetic POV, Starcasters are probably the guitars that had the second-greatest "that's-really-sexy"-kinda affect on me (the greatest being a Jazzmaster). I kinda think thinline Teles look a bit tacky.

And I'm a Jonny Greenwood fan, and I never said we're unique, Doc ;) :P

I dont mind if it's right up your street, as long as it takes the next left, through the roundabout and left at the traffic lights - and ends up on MY street:pac:
