Cheltenham 2009 Fantasy League: interest list

arising out of discussions in the BBV thread, who would be interested in the following:

A Cheltenham 2009 Fantasy 'League' for the poker forum

• €50 to enter
  
• You get 1,000 fantasy euro to invest on your fancies at the Festival
  
• Max bet per race = 100 fantasy euro (lessens the chance of some luckbox sticking the full whack on a 16/1 shot in the last race). 50 e/w. No Place Only bets (for wimps;))
  
• All bets are at official SP (too hard to track otherwise)
  
• All bets must be nominated by 1pm each day

League winner takes all!!!!!!!!!! :):):):):):)

I'd be happy to do the scoring...as regards the €50 I would be happy to do this on the honour system for all well-known poker forumites (i.e. you pay the winner via the medium of his choice afterwards). Anyone not well-known can escrow.

let's see how many we get and discuss then. I don't mind escrowing on Stars or whatever but personally I would trust most people on here for 50 quid

This is a bad idea, most people post on here cause there busto and cant play pokers but want to look like there balla and big shots imo:P, pay up front

here's my proposed rules for the fantasy League.

let me know if any disagreement\ideas\tweaks. Anything sensible will be taken on board. (this is not the final list)

1. €50 (or $65) entry fee. Winner takes 100% of the prize pool. You must pay in advance. My pokerstars username is Stuntgirl. Anyone who slags me about this will be killed. I will pay out the prizepool immediately following the Festival to the user's poker site of choice (preferably stars obv.).

2. You get 1,000 fantasy euro to wager on the upcoming Cheltenham festival. Winner is obviously the person with the largest fantasy 'bank' at the end of the week.

3. Max bet per race is 100 fantasy euro. Win or each-way bets only (no place only bets). Minimum bet per race is 20 fantasy euro. You do not have to bet in every race. You can back more than one horse in a single race but multiple selections can only add up to 100 fantasy euro max in that race. No doubles\trebles etc.

4. All bets for each day's racing must be nominated in the fantasy league thread by 1pm on each day of racing. If you have not posted by then, you will be presumed to have placed no bets for that day. One post per entrant per day. You can edit your post up to 1pm as much as you like, any editing after 1pm will result in forfeit of 750 fantasy euro and your bets for that day being null and void.

5. All bets are at official starting prices.

6. Richie can nominate mdwexford's selections

7. All my decisions are final and any disagreement is pointless :pac:

8. I will post an updated League table each evening after the day's racing.

Does anyone know anywhere you can watch the races live online for free?

I know if you bet with some on the bookies you can watch that race, but is there anywhere you can stream all the coverage?

thanks Damo, it's probably easiest to keep it to stars only rather than collecting money all over the place - easier for paying out too

I will be quite strict about getting people's money in time as
(a) it's not fair to those that have paid in time
(b) I don't want people signing up and then not paying half-way through when they realise they have no chance of winning (not that I think anyone would do this but at least paying up in advance makes things cleaner)
