Nagles Campsite. You can ring Ken Nagle in Doolin. Its right by the sea and right across from the campsite it the ferry dock to the Aran Islands where you can head over there and camp as well.

You can get a public coach right to the campsite entrance if you need as well.

He only rents the pitchs out.

There are also some great pubs and a few restaurants open in season and pitch and putt.

The Cliffs of Moher are within a 20 minute drive as is Lahinch, the West of Ireland best Surfers beach and some good nightlife. You can also camp in Lahinch just outside the town(5 minute walk).

I cannot think of the name of the campsite but the owner is Thomas O'Kieffe. Outside of Season you can call him in Centra, Roslevan in Ennis on

EDIT BTW Whats the story with your ticker? 6 Months since you have been to Gran Canaria. It must have been good. :D

are you looking to camp here or abroad?

if it's your first time probably best to rent or if you can, to borrow, so that you'll find out if you like it or not. investing in a decent tent and good sleeping bags can be pricey enough.

lol im just too lazy to change it plus ive nothing to replace it with! Berty's the name of my dog btw haha

im a complete novice, are we in season now, is the pitch where the tent goes?? oh and you say he only rents pitches out, so does that mean i gotta get a tent?

on the site the rate is small tent: 2 adults 16e

Yep Pitch = location of tent, caravan, camper, motorhome.

Are we in Season? Not really. Season really begins in the West of Ireland around March 17th so close. As camping sites go they will normally be fairly quiet.

Here is one snippet of information for you. If you go into a seaside town with caravan sites just head into the office their and they will usually charge you a nominal fee and you normally pitch your tent in their front/back garden.

Getting a tent can be cheap or expensive. Lidl/Aldi normally sell them every so often but its a bit early for those people. There are always people with sales on so you might pick one up.

My username/handle is my nickname going back since around 1994. I always laugh when I head the ad on TV with the goat named Berty. :D

Just wondering how the old camping trip went and what did you do about tents, thinking of doing the same thing ourselves sometime in May. Any tips or advice?
    Thanks

Eagle Point in Bantry. The most gorgeous camp site on a small peninsula, surrounded on 3 sides by sea, and overlooking the mountains!

    Fabulous! http://www.eaglepointcamping.com/
