Don't know if here or the main Motors fourm is the best place for this, but:

What's the law regarding driving with your hazards on?
I can find some references to it being illegal in some US states, but nothing on Ireland. I know the offical test answer is it's OK to use them "when your car is broken down, being towed, or at the scene of an accident".
So is it illegal to use them at other times?
Or is it legal e.g. for the last few taxis in a long line of slow protesting drivers to have their hazards on as a warning of a delay ahead? (to pick a random example)

Afaik there is no specific law but someone else may be able to clear that one up

The likes of the taxi incident would be good practice, if you are driving on a road and suddenly have to slw down for some reason or meet heavy traffic you should turn on your hazard lights. If you ever drive on an autobahn in germany, they are experts at it! :D

I would say it is good driving practice but not essential or illegal afaik

Here's a few quotes from the Rules of the Road.
    If you notice traffic
slowing down sharply, use your hazard warning lights to warn traffic behind
    you.
What to do if your vehicle breaks down:
If you have hazard warning lights, switch them on.
In the event of an accident:You can warn others by using your hazard lights.
