    Hi guys

I've been told 10/28 is closing for five days. Could someone please confirm if this might be true and if so, when?

    cheers

It being the main runway of Ireland's busiest airport I cant imagine its closing down.
Runway 34/16 is the only other runway and its only suitable for N/S winds.

Looks like night-time closures only - although those of you more familiar with NOTAMS might be able to confirm if it is currently closed as suggested below:

    A0321/09 - RWY 10/28 CLOSED. DAILY 2300-0500, 02 MAR 23:00 2009 UNTIL 07 MAR 05:00 2009.

I thought this happened quite a bit on any airport's "main runway" for rubber removal, but only during the night. Every so often you get a thread started by someone living under the flightpath of 16/34 asking why they are being awoken in the early hours.

God I'd love if they closed 28/10 for a week, watching departures and arrivals from 16/34 is a lot more enjoyable and much better for photo opportunities.

there was a rubber removal vehicle and trailer parked in a layby on the old airport road just south of Airside Retail Park for a few days last week.

I wondered how could such a business by viable, but then I saw it was German registered so I assume they go all over Europe scraping bits of tyre of runways!!
