    Hey,

I have been out of work for a number of months, due to family circumstances. I will be looking for a job sometime in the next fre weeks. As I have not been really looking at the news or keeping up with any of it on the jobs front, I am wondering if anyone can help me?

I have a very strong sales background - 8 years to be exact. I am wondering would it be easier to find a job in a retail environment or are there still decent sales jobs out there still?

    Thanks for the replies

Try for both. There isn't so much going that this will be hard to do.

Hopefully you'll get something. good luck.

Ironically good sales people will be in greater demand now in the recession but will find the going tough. Enterprises will have to up the ante to shift goods as people will now have to be persuaded to buy them and it won't be easy.
This will now require skill, judgment and experience which some sales people still have.

The company I work for had to let some of the manufacturing/fitting personnel go but are now going heavy on recruiting sales/marketing to bring in the business to keep everyone else going. So I think there is still sales jobs out there - getting way more replies to the ads & it's pretty competitive too, but still jobs there for it
