No more end of year returns for small businesses

A week or two ago RTE news made a report that companies with a turnover of less that €1 million per annum may no longer have to file annual returns if future legislation comes in to play. Of course they will still have to keep accounts, but they will not have to go to the expense of hiring an accountant to assist with these returns.

Does anyone have any further information on this?

This would be fantastic if it did happen. Really give small businesses one less thing to worry about so they can grow and get some good people off the dole queue.
