    Hi!

Does anyone know what the story is with Alumni access to the library is?

    Can I take out books?

Can I get books from Santry/Stacks?

Might save me a long trip into town tomorrow!

    Thanks

I think with a readers card you can call up stuff from Santry, but you can't take things out of the library.

    Similar question,

On here it mentions the following:
WARNING : If you are OFF CAMPUS you do not need to modify your browser but should enter your network login password when prompted - click here for more information. We always welcome comments and suggestions

...if I access try to access a journal within Trinity will it just smile and not ask me for a username and password?

I emailed myself a link to an article in a journal I found and read some of while in college. Tried to open it at home and was prompted to enter a password or pay. Dunno if this is what you're on about, though. I'd still like to know what the story is with that...

I think tcd has an account with the journal websites, so when it sees that you're browsing from Trinity, it lets you in automatically.

You can view journals from home/outside Trinity (if they're listed in one of the databases on the library website) by going to this page, clicking the relevant database, and then it should ask you for your TCD network username and password. Then you're free to browse around unrestricted from outside college.
