Just Upgraded my HD - All seems fine after Restore, but my trophies have reset!?

So I upgraded my 40 gb to a 500 gb tonight, and backup/restore all seemed to go as planned. That was until I fired open Burnout, only to realise that my trophy count was zeroised for it!

Now when I restored my HD, I synced to server (did this before making the backup too) and all my trophy count/saved games/demos/friens/etc seemed fine. Burnout was at 70%. So I decide to play it, then after a few seconds I get awarded a trophy which I had gotten before. I then look at stats and it says 1%. Thinking I had missed out on something, I restored my original backup again.

On restore I checked everything and all seemed fine again. I then turned on the game. On selecting burnout, I opened up trophy list (while it was loading) only to see that burnout had disappeared. Once it had fully loaded, it appeared but as 0%. Do I need to sync again or something? I was afraid to do so as I thought that all that will do is overwrite my previous (correct) count, with the new reset one.

My game status seemed ok mind (vehicles unlocked etc), so trophies seem to be the only thing that didn't go as planned. Now I realise that trophies are only a minor minor aspect (not to mention minor) but i'd rather hold on to what I have, if ya know what I mean.

    Any suggestions/ideas?

Im pretty sure the trophies are saved to your profile not psn acc or game..Your profile as in when you boot ps3 it asks which profile to load so you have obviously lost that profile..

Same happened me when I upgraded my hdd, nearly shat myself! I had well over 200 trophies
Anyway your trophy info is attached to your psn account and all stored safely on a server so dont panic :)

Did you try syncing with the server to retreive your trophy info??

This won't repopulate it unfortunately. All you need to do is play the game you had trophies earned on again.

I had a number of Uncharted trophies on my profile but they were wiped when I upgraded. I put in Uncharted again and they were back.

I only had one profile/user set up on my original HD, un der my own name. That same profile/name has appeared and looks fine from the restore!

Like I said, I synced with the server before running the Backup utility initially. As soon as the Restore utility completed, I synced with the server again (when I was signed in) and my trophy list was intact, all was looking fine. It was only when I booted up the game that it first disappeared off the trophy list, then reappeared as 0%.
I'm well confussed as I had thought I had ticked all the boxes in going through the procedure.

I had this problem also. Like was said above, play the game again and maybe try and get 1 of the trophies again. After I did this all of my trophies for that game reappeared.

See thats the thing, I turned on Burnout and was playing it for about 30 secs or so, when all of a sudden I see that i've been awarded a trophy (one that I had before). I check the trophy list and Burnout had gone from 70% to 1 %!

All the others seemed fine, but I haven't played any other games since. I didn't want to sync at this stage in case it overwrote the 70% with 1%, and then i'd be rightly screwed (I think).

Check your online trophy lists and see if the Burnout trophies have been replaced. I doubt it will be but its worth a check.

this also happened to me around xmas when i swapped my hdd. nearly pooped myself, got 2 platinums and thought they were gone but i jus synced with the sever and they all came back.

then about a month ago i formatted my hdd so i could install ubuntu on (which is crap by the way) and they came back once i synced with the server again.

How would I go about doing this? I logged into playstation ireland but all it seems to be is account/transaction management.

So you reckon that, even though my burnout is gone back to 0, if I sync again it should revert to original? I'd just be afraid that it would upload 0 as my total onto my psn account, and overwrite the 70.

EDIT: I just emailed Sony now to see what could be up.

Ok so I lost patience and thought i'd give em a ring as well as an email. The guy I spoke too was completely baffled by it, and said it was pretty unusual. Super! So he took my details and is passing them onto head office. Lol. Nothing is ever plain sailing with me!
