    Hi all,

I had a 2 priovisional licences, then applied for my driving test and
failed, was then given a 1 year provisional.....that was 7 years ago.

I then started driving a car but never renewed my bike licence.

Do I now need to do the driver theory test and apply for a learners
permit (A1) or a provisional (A)....i'm confused lads, please help!

You're back to square one i'm afraid. Once the license/permit has expired for more than 5 years, you're back to the start. So you'll have to do an A theory test, and apply for an A learner permit.

hey everyone, i have a similar enough problem. I have a provisional licence which recently expired...probably no more than a year ago, can anyone tell me about the procedure in this case? i applied for a driving test online and never heard back from them. will i be allowed to obtain a second provisional licence or will i have to go through all that permit malarky now?

Mine expired about 3 years ago, found the relevant form on one of the council websites and send it off and got my "permit". It's the same as the provisional tbh, you're still on the 2nd one as you might have been before

Up to 5 years you can pick up where your left off.

It's 10 years for an expired full license.
