Could anyone explain if all these would have the vtec engine , also I heard the timing belt inteval is 72 k miles . Does this sound correct ?

Yes all 1998 to 2003 Accords are i-VTEC but the 1.8 and 2.0 litre are tunned to be fuel efficent. Different to the likes of Typr R models which are tunned for maximum performance.

If it is belt driven then the recommended change is every 5 years or 60k miles. At least that what it was on my old man's Civic at the time. If in doubt ring a Honda dealer.

yeah they are vtec engines but they are singlecam so they wont put out as much performance as DOHC vtecs because of their nature and their purpose. If you are performance orientated person 2.2 Type R is your car otherwise 2.0 would be sound...
